History: Saffronice is new online, but has been around as a business for generations, supplying some of the finest restaurants in the Middle East and around the world. We work with a small network of local family farms in the Khorasan region of the Middle East, where saffron farming is still done the traditional way, as it has been for centuries.
Sustainability: Our farmers are committed to producing saffron the right way—without ever resorting to GMOs, harsh pesticides and chemical fertilizers, or industrial processing techniques. They’re working on lands that their families have farmed generation after generation, and so treat the Earth with the respect that it deserves.
Ethics: One of our founders grew up on a saffron farm—the son of a traditional farming family like the ones we work with. He saw first-hand the challenges and hardships faced by small farmers, and, sadly, the exploitation that they experienced at the hands of exporters and middlemen. That’s why he went to university to study international business: in order to help his family, and other small farmers like them, bring their products to a global market at a fair price. At Saffronice, we’re a farm-to-table company, dedicated to making the world a healthier, happier, fairer place—for everyone.
