In Morocco, this blend of spices is called Ras al Hanout – which translates to ‘the head of the shop.’ It was made by spice merchants throughout Morocco from the spices that were leftover at the end of the day. Even today, no two spice merchants in Morocco have an identical blend of Ras al Hanout; each is unique.
Our Saffronice version is a blend of ground ginger, peppercorns, ground coriander, turmeric, allspice and cinnamon. It is the perfect mix for a variety of Moroccan dishes, including tagines, tangias, couscous and rfissa.
