The Saffron Syrup is an ancient recipe from the Persian culture which we at Saffronice have lovingly formulated to suit the western palate. Due to fermentation, Saffron Syrup provides a full spectrum of gut-loving good bacteria.
Raw Queensland Honey, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Saffron & Whole Mint.
Size: 440ml - One bottle can make up to 3 litres of Saffron Syrup.
This syrup can be fermented or enjoyed as is after mixing with water or soda water.
Quick Mix: Add Saffron Syrup to either soda water or regular water. The amount depends on your taste. Add a slice of lemon or a few leaves of mint for extra taste.
Fermentation: Mix 1 bottle of Saffron Syrup to 6 bottles of water (1:6)
Store in room temperature for 6-7 days (allow air in the container but cover with a towel/net to stop insects from falling in)
After 6-7 days, there will be some white foam on top of the drink, this is a natural probiotic which you can mix into your drink or remove with a spoon or a strainer.
Pour into airtight bottles and refrigerate.
Use within 20-30 days of bottling.
Tip: If the mix is too sweet for your taste, leave the bottles out of the fridge for an extra day or two. Remember, this is a live healthy drink and the bacteria are still working by consuming the sugar from the honey. The longer it is kept in room temperature, the lower the sugar content will be.
Drink chilled and enjoy!
Other Usages: As a salad dressing, add a portion of the syrup to olive oil and season with salt & Pepper.
Highly alkaline, full of natural probiotics, great for upset tummy & acidic guts, great for indigestion, great for adding good bacteria to the stomach.
